Mud Dauber Control Fort Worth, Ft. Worth Mud Dauber Removal

We offer Mud Dauber Removal and Control in Fort Worth, TX.

Named for the muddy nests the females of these species create, mud dauber wasps are recognized by their thin, needle-like waists. A non-aggressive insect, mud daubers sting only when provoked or attacked. Adults reach up to one inch in length. Unlike other species of wasp, mud daubers have no caste of workers and queens, and no need to instincts to defend their nests.

Black and Yellow Mud Dauber
The black and yellow mud dauber builds its nests in or around man-made structures such as houses, bridges or other sites. The female of the species collects mud and forms a nest by employing her mandibles. According to the Iowa State University Department of Entomology, the black and yellow species "builds a series of cylindrical cells that are eventually plastered over with mud to form a smooth mud nest about the size of a fist." A parasitic creature, black and yellow mud daubers deposit their eggs on paralyzed spiders, which then are consumed by the hatched larvae.
Blue Mud Dauber
Blue mud daubers have black or dark blue bodies with iridescent blue wings. Rather than creating a new nest of mud, the blue species of this wasp seeks out abandoned black and yellow mud dauber nests, repurposing them for their own use. As with other mud daubers, this wasp feeds its larvae on paralyzed spiders that they pack into nest compartments. According to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, mud daubers most often feed their larvae black widows or other poisonous spiders.

Organ Pipe Mud Dauber
These shiny, black mud daubers are named for the type of nest they build. As with the black and yellow mud dauber, the organ pipe species' female utilizes her mandibles to collect mud and form a nest. The parallel tube structure of this mud dauber's home resembles the cylindrical pipes of an upright organ. Like the other species of mud dauber, the organ pipe wasp employs parasitic habits, paralyzing spiders for later consumption by larvae. The organ pipe and other mud daubers are considered beneficial, as they prey upon poisonous spiders that lurk in and around man-made structures.

Wasp Control Wasp and Removal Fort Worth, TX

Need a wasp nest removed in Fort Worth, TX? Then you've come to the right place. Assassin Exterminating & Pest Control is the leader when it comes to Pest Control & Exterminating in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Appearance

Wasps can be distinguished from bees by the appearance of their body.  Where bees have a hairy or feather like (also know as plumose) body, wasps have a smoother body. Though there are many varieties of paper wasps, the common coloring used to identify them is a single reddish-brown to chestnut coloring to multi-coloring of yellow, black and/or brown.

Nests

Most Wasps and Hornets attach their nests above ground to a stationary object - under the eaves of your home, under porches, behind shutters, or in decorative shrubs. A paper wasp (or commonly called and umbrella wasp) make nests made out of paper-like material.  The nest are generally small and shaped like an inverted umbrella.

Treatment
An appropriate treatment is applied directly into the nest. This application will effectively kill all nest occupants. Some workers are likely to be out foraging. A dusting of insecticide will be applied to a small area around the nest in order to kill stragglers as they return to the nest. Assassin Exterminating warranties all stinging insect nest removal treatments.

Is it Illegal to Kill Bees in Fort Worth, Texas

Rumors are prevalent on the internet that it is illegal to kill bees. This is not unilaterally true. Regardless, it should be remembered that bees are an indispensable part of our planet's ecology.
  1. Misconceptions

    • It is a misconception that it is strictly illegal to kill bees. It depends on the method used to kill the bee. Approaches such as swatting, using natural liquids or administering EPA-approved chemical solutions to kill a bee are not prohibited by law. The use of federally banned pesticides, however, is illegal.

    Pollinator Protection Act

    • In 2008, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed the Pollinator Protection Act after it was noted that honey bee populations were in decline.

    Terms

    • The terms of the Pollinator Protection Act promote research and study of honey bees and is intended to support the lifespan of these insects, which is integral to the earth's long-term welfare. There is no language, however, making it a federal law to kill bees.

    Considerations

    • Although it is not outright illegal to kill a bee, it is illegal to use certain pesticides on bees or any other insect. Federal courts have ruled pesticides that may severely harm entire bee populations, such as Movento and Ultor, illegal.

    Warning

    • Killing bees may be hazardous to your health or potentially lethal should you have an allergic reaction to bee stings. The best method for bee removal or eradication is to contact your local pest control or bee swarm removal service.
